Since Craig has returned from Korea Craig and Vanessa have been busy looking for a new home. They spent hours driving around looking for the perfect house. While driving around they noticed a brand new subdivision of McMansions going up. They were curious as to who in this town could afford such houses, so they drove in just to gawk at them. While driving around Vanesa noticed there were some smaller houses on the next street. These houses looked more like something they could afford. They drove over and liked what they saw. All brick siding, lots of trees and a nice looking neighborhood. They pulled into a driveway to get out and get a better look. As they got out they were greeted by the home builder himself who just happened to be there. They talked for a bit and the homebuilder gave Craig and Vanessa the access codes to the garage doors and told them where the keys were so they could go in and really look at the houses. He gave them his card and said to call him if they had any questions. They were already impressed and decided to take a closer look. Everything seemed to be put together very well but Craig wanted to see what was behind the good looking finish. He went up into the attic and crawled around to see how things were put together and was satisfied.
The next day Craig and Vanessa called the homebuilder and set up an appointment. They met a few days later and went over the floor plans, made some changes, and walked out with a rough floorplan named after them. Craig and Vanessa then went out and picked out a lot, which turned out to be the builder's favorite lot. It is a large lot with 3 pecan trees on it and only one would have to be removed to build the house. On 23 Aug, Craig and Vanessa took the plunge and put down $5,000 to begin the building process.
